Why Mopeds are fun

Public transport has its annoyances and inconveniences. Everyone who knows what I’m talking about would applaud when I say that I would much rather walk. But what about these mopeds? I saw a guy riding down on one of these and I am filled with envy. The bike was incredibly cute and it seemed to be in control of the traffic while I stared (with my lime green face) out of the bus window.

How awesome is that?

So, Let's see if I should get myself a Moped.

1. They are so cute!

2. I'm kind of small, so a moped would be the least intimidating bike for me.

3. OMG they are so cute!

4. No insane bike skills needed. I can keep a bicycle straight. With some practice, I'll probably be able to pull off the one of these as well.

Totally!
5. In most countries, you are not necessarily expected to have a license to drive a moped since most models drive under  50kmph. (too slow? well, I'll be preventing situations like the one pictured below by two lolcats)

Totally Not!
6. They are inexpensive and easy to maintain. Awesome.

7. Did I say how cute mopeds are? oh, I did. Well, they are cute!

8. Fuel efficiency. Great for people who are concerned about leaving massive carbon footprints.

9. I can finally understand what Blair Waldorf meant when she said ' Riding around in vespas while wearing the cute outfits'. (Gossip Girl Season 3 Finale)

10. They'll last ages if you can maintain them properly and use good spare parts when needed.

That's it. This is reason enough for me to get my hands on a moped. Good bye public transportation, brawling babies, huge bags and creepy seat mates! Hello Moped!

A useful source to help keep you moped in good health.

How to give a gift without earning disappointment

Serious topic isn't it? Well, it is. Most people really don't know how to give a good gift. I have received gifts that range from mildly disappointing to downright crappy. For instance, I once received a shirt... not bad? Ha, it was at least two sizes too small (the only things that are too small for me are, well, found in the kids' section) classification, mildly disappointing... Then I received a pair of shoes that resembled this,

I can picture your expression. Now picture this in white....
While Lady GaGa would have accepted them gladly and even (shudder) worn them. The ones I got are locked away in a deep, dark corner of my closet. Where even my cat couldn't find them (even he didn't try to sharpen his claws on them *sad*)

yeah, well, you don't look so bangin' either... humph
What I'm trying to say is, you can't just dump the stuff that's lying around your house on to someone who is celebrating a special occasion. OK, let me rephrase that.. how would you like to receive my clog-shoes on your next birthday? *evil smile*

give.clogs.away.
Before you start shopping, spend at least ten minutes trying to find out what your recipient would like to receive. You can try asking them... but the conversation would go something along the lines of this;

You- so what do you want for your birthday.
Recipient - Oh, nothing, Thanks for asking.
You- oh, come on, I really have no idea what to buy you... small hint??
Recipient - Really, I don't want ANYTHING from you... come to my party!!
You - uh.....

Wha....!?
This conversation honestly makes no sense. No one in their right minds would throw a birthday party without expecting at least a balloon as a gift. A mind reader *hint- E. Cullen *would know in an instant what your recipient is trying to say, subconsciously. (unless of course, its B. Swann) So the conversation would go something like this,

You- so what do you want for your birthday.
Recipient's screaming mind - Oh, god I want that new perfume by YSL, or a netbook, or that new panasonic plasma TV.. wait wait, no, I want a Birkin bag.
Your mind - 'crap!'

twitch, twitch...

So unless you are supernaturally gifted like our sparkly friend, you may wan't to go undercover and use all the available sources of information to find out the what they might actually enjoy. There really is no excuse to gift some one 'clogs' when you have access to their preferences on the internet (hello blogger, myspace, facebook and twitter). Or you can ask their other friends,  the ones who won't blab of course.

If you live far, far away from the recipient that doesn't mean you are allowed to forget all about their special occasions. With all these delivery companies around, you won't have an excuse to not send a gift. They're pretty cheap too, so you won't have to spend extra. (If you still think 'distance' is a barrier to give the perfect gift, then you're even cheaper than the delivery service providers, I'm just sayin')

I wouldn't mind one of these myself
And make sure that you keep things well timed. No one would want to receive their birthday present months after their actual birthday (and probably in time for their next birthday).

mind- ZOMG, just what I expected muahahahaha
Believe, me giving a gift is as simple as that. Find out what they want, buy it, wrap it up and they would actually love it. And yes, Karma works, you will also receive a considerate, well thought about gifts in return.

New Glasses...

Now that I am officially a writer, that meant I would eventually ruin my eyes by staring at white, word documents at all hours of the day. So, I decided to finally get a pair of those filtering glasses to make sure that I don't go blind.

DO NOT WANT To GETZ BLIND...

Really, I don't know why kids get made fun of at school for wearing glasses. It's actually pretty awesome (unless of course, they are 1/2 an inch thick and make your eyes look four times bigger. That would just suck!).

HalP, Mai Eye! IT GROWD!

They did take a bit of time to get used to. Is it the same with everyone? I kept focusing on the frame at first. Now it's totally fine I hardly notice the frame.

I iz not Blind kitteh

And................., I get to do all sorts of cool stuff like,
  1. Wipe my glasses with the little piece of cloth that comes in the case
  2. Try to put on my glasses with one hand
  3. Put the glasses on with both hands
  4. Look at my reflection with glasses
  5. Adjust my glasses
  6. Push them up my nose
  7. Take them off and fold up the arms
  8. Open the arms
  9. Holding up the lenses to see if there are any bits of dust stuck to them
  10. Repeat cool glasses thing No.1
  11. Ability to liberally use the emoticon - 8-) for no apparent reason
  12. Trying to focus on the little white plasticky bits (that hold the glasses on the nose) while the glasses are on
  13. Trying to catch the reflected colours , while wearing the glasses
  14. Actually catching the reflected colours while the glasses are off
  15. Looking at my reflection and adjusting my head so that one eye is purple and the other is green
  16. Move the glasses up and down my face to try and spot the glare difference.
  17. Compare glasses with Chester Bennington (I have the same ones)
  18. Pretend I'm all nerdy
  19. Etc.

See? Who wouldn't love their computer glasses? Geeks have all the fun!

So you wanna be emo....

Nemo's depressed cousin
This article will tell you how to be emo without being labelled as a poser. Recent studies have shown that about 99.99% of so-called emo people are nothing but poser n00bs and attention whores with bad hair. So, read on if you really wanna be emo and revel in the awesomeness.

Music

yep, that's what I'm talking about
This is absolutely necessary to leave poser-dom and to enter actual emo-ness. If you don' know what a guitar pick is, the I suggest you go and join those twi-hard losers and soon over Edward Cullen the fairy. OK so you can't play a guitar if your life depended on it. write poetry that's what emo people do 'to express their inner angst'. Choose the most obscure bands you can think of (or can't think of), to increase credibility. No one would believe you if you only listen to My Chemical Romance. So catch up n00b.

Hair, make up clothes

...or their need to dress all in black

Emo music can only take you so far... oh what am I saying, it's not going to take you far at all (apart from providing topics for conversation with random emo people) unless you look the part. Got red hair? Please, that's so not emo, unless it's synthetic scarlet.

or bleached blonde
And when it comes to clothes, make sure that they are all ill fitting. What? that top fits you perfectly? oh starve yourself n00b!!! And of course you should always, always wear a bunch of bracelets and bangles (black, studded) to hide your wounds.(What? cutting yourself is mandatory... are you in or what? In? well then keep up!). And guys, you wanna be emo? borrow your little brother's jeans... those fit way too well. Your girlfriend's skinnies are also fine. (I'm surprised you have a girlfriend, considering you're supposed to be all jaded and tormented)

I iz Tormented
Saw that picture of Jenny Humphrey? yes, that should be your face from now on. Guy or girl, it's all about EYELINER. Don't worry if you're a klutz. The more smudged it is the better (like Jenny Humphrey's make up artist who thinks that the eyelid is at the bottom of the eyes). Creating hte perfect black-eye effect should be your goal. Oh, and don't forget the nail polish - black.

Emo mindset

sad... sad... sad

Ok, this is the serious part. Have you ever seen a smiling, laughing and joking emo? Of course you haven't. There's no point in dressing all in black with slashed wrists and chipped black fingernails unless you have some deep seated depression-related issue. And emos don't talk to people, they are very quiet and only express themselves through art (by themselves I mean their pain). So, keep that big mouth shut! And you have to believe that death, pain and blood solves everything. If your partner left you, cut your self and write poems in blood, if you can't fit in, cut your other wrist and bandage it... it's that simple.

I iz no poser n00bs
So I think we have everything straight. hair, make up, clothes, attitude... check!! Good! Now go and take a picture and upload it as your facebook profile. Now who's the poser????

The cat's IN the box now...

Yes this is for you, you yellow furball...

Judging by my liberal use of LOL cats on every single (almost) blog post of mine, I'm sure you can tell that I am a cat person. So of course, I have a cat at home. Used to have two, this poser right here, and my yellow, milk hungry fur ball pictured above (charmer isn't he?).

So, about this guy, he likes boxes, and bags and chairs and of course my bed. I just recently bought a pair of shoes and being the organizer I am (detect sarcasm), I ended up leaving the shoebox unattended on the floor for a little while. And came back to find this:

'WAT, It Waz Empteh!?'

As you can see, with the adept use of feline-jedi mind powers, he managed to squeeze in to a box half his size.

'I CAN has diz box!'
He's been sleeping in it for three days now (the box looks more like a basin now). At least it keeps him off my bed, and away from my cables (he likes cables, important and expensive cables)

STFU inner critic...! and GTFO inner sloth...!

I mean it!!!!

Ever heard of writer's block? Most of the time we complain about not being inspired. But the true problem may be anything from succumbing to your inner sloth or paying too much attention to the inner critic. Think of these two as the good angel sitting on your right shoulder and the devil sitting on your left and they each try and get you to do what they want. In the case of writer's block, the sloth is hanging on your left, trying to drag you down to bed and the inner critic whispers nasty things about your work in your right ear.

Ignore them both and do whatever you want...
If you need to get good at what you do, you need to do what you can to shut both of these creeps up. For good.

See, the inner sloth likes to point out enticing things like food, bed, internet LOL-cats, and other things that will distract and slow you down.

The inner critic is not as nice and generous, this jerk tells you things like 'Dude, your writing sucks' or 'WTF dude, that's the best line you can come up with?' or 'you call this writing?... tee hee N00B!' or make you do crazy s**t like cutting off your ear (like that Van Gogh fellow).

'cut off important body part' it said...
What can you do to shut these morons up? Well, you could start by taking a break. You honestly can't create anything when that critic-creep makes criticizing comments about whatever crap you do, you might as well get out of earshot. But don't take a break for too long because then the sloth is going to think that you are in need of sleep or other pointless recreational activity (he just doesn't get the limit, that one).  Take a well earned break and then come back stronger and tell the both of them to go fluff themselves and start writing.

OYES U DID!

Sometimes that just might not be enough. The critic n the sloth bay both be shut up effectively but, what if you really aren't inspired? (That would be a bummer, weren't you gonna write the next 'Twilight'?...tee hee!'  Hey, I thought I told you to STFU!)

Without sparkles...

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, lack of inspiration, that could only be cured in time or by drastic change. You could take a vacation and recharge those writer cells and come home with a masterpiece outlined. Or you get out, out of your neighbourhood and move to zombieland... I mean somewhere else, with new things to look at.. oh heck, pack up and go to zombieland (you could write the next......wait, I think that's new!)

sound's catchy...
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that we don't have to lose to these two creeps. Ignore them and keep doing what you feel is right. I'm sure that J.K. Rowling didn't have a little voice in her head saying 'Srsly?' each time she came up with something out of this world. The woman's richer than the queen because she knew how to say STFU to the inner critic and keep writing. I suggest the rest of you do the same!!!

I Love Horses...

Maybe not to actually own one (so damn high maintenance and I don't really like large herbivorous mammals... cows... shudder), but to draw them....  That's another story.... They are the most regal, poised and elegant animals I know (cats are great but, I wouldn't call them elegant).
I really like to draw, I wish I could get around to doing that in my free time... But, that doesn't work for me because most of the stuff I've done in my free time end up in the bin after a couple of days. It doesn't happen when I draw for a reason... So, let's hope I get more reasons to draw :-)

This one, I drew for our newly spruced up living room. My mother wanted to paint the walls in violet and that kind of darkened up the room. So we had to replace all the sofa covers with white ones, orange curtains with white lace ones and the painting of the indian bride with...'mes cheveux!!'

The is the first step...
White horse completed.... moved on to the black one
Crayons were a new medium for me. I used crayons when I was in pre-school, and then stopped. I worked with water colours and oil paint for a while.... this is much better as I can blend easily (used cotton buds and my fingers for this) with just about anything I can find.... so, goodbye brushes???
Maybe not so fast, I might try another one with water colours and pastel.... Now if someone would just ask me to paint something.....

Final picture
A well spent 4 days....! (yes it took 4 days, four entire days of paint covered fingers... and one ruined, T shirt, lot's of missed cartoons) I think it was worth it...!!  Maybe I'll do one for my man....! A pic of... oops I'd better not tell.... :) :) Motivation enough for me!!!!

Top 10 on my favorite songs list...

I can't really pick out one song and say, this is my favorite songs. These are currently on the top of the frequently played list on my music player.

#10 Zombie by the pretty reckless

I found this band in a crazy way. I am an avid reader of yahoo's OMG and Taylor Momsen makes frequent appearances on the 'What were they Thinking?' segment and I decided to check out what her band was when i saw a picture of her wearing an over-sized shirt (only an over-sized shirt). I love her voice by the way.

#9 Lacrymosa by Evanescence

I had to deal with the creative genius of W.A. Mozart while I was taking classical music lessons and the Lacrimosa section of his Requiem was the first piece of Mozart I ever played. Amy Lee did a great job on this.

#8 The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin

I love this song, and the acoustic version as well. The video? Meh. Not so much. I don't like any of the band's other songs either.

#7 Where I stood by Missy Higgins
This, i stumbled on while watching an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Great song, currently my ring tone. I know that some of these songs are old but, I sort of rely on TV shows for my dosage of new music.

#6 Stripper by The Soho Dolls

Another song that I came across while indulging in my guilty pleasure, Gossip Girl (Season 1 - Victor, Victrola). I Loved the episode too.... and Blair's shoes...!

#5 Hide and Seek Imogen Heap
This was a difficult find. I first heard this on Gossip Girl (Big Surprise) and found the butchered version first. I had no idea that this Derulo fellow took it from Imogen Heap until I googled the lyrics and got directed to this. Lovely, weird song with some of the best lyrics I've ever seen.

#4 Sky is Over by Serj Tankian

I'm not much of a System Of A Down fan, (I particularly have an aversion to that guy with the braided beard) but, this is definitely catchy. Nice work with the piano too. I was half expecting him to chop it with an axe. He still looks odd though.

#3 I hate everything about you by Three Days Grace

I know that this is like, old. But, it's still on the top of the list after 4 years. That's got to count for something don't you think? The video sucks by the way. I pictured a Gothic wedding where everybody's wearing black and emo make up. That would have suited the song more... Cracking song though!!!

#2 The Outsider by A perfect Circle

Heard this first on the resident Evil 4 - Afterlife Trailer, (yes, I like zombie movies, 28 days later, Shaun of the dead and Zombieland) and I knew it was by A Perfect circle (even though I'd only ever heard one of their songs) and was hooked on this ever since. I don't usually like the remix versions of any song but, this one just blew me away. Great lyrics (Suicidal Imbecile, Medicated Drama Queen to name a a catchy few phrases) and great concept. I liked the video too(Bikini bandits), even though it was not what I expected.

#1 Passive by A perfect Circle
I Love Keanu Reeves (Sorry Boyfriend... this started in like, 5th grade) so, of course, I watched Constantine and heard it in the scene where Constantine walks in to the bar.  I can't stop listening to this one. Yes, it's old, but still, it's a great song with great meaning. I don't know why I don't like any of the other songs from this band... considering the fact that the only two that I do like are on the top of the list.

I'm changing my ring tone! to Passive. ;-)

Move Over...

So you want to move. Have you thought about all of the complexities that might arise? What complexities?
srsly??

Well, there are a bunch of things that can go wrong when you're attempting to move to a new house. Still not sure? How about, Damaging your entire collection of ceramic cats... or ending up killing all the fish in your fish tank... Okay how about, having to take a whole month off work to sort things out after the most disorganized move of the century and ending up losing your job? (plus, since you spent the entire month unpacking all the crap from your previous house without actually socializing with your new neighbors, the're gonna think you're some sort of a a creepy hermit or something, yes, even the hot one across the street! Trust me, it's not the right message to send.)

First things first,
Find yourself a good mover. I personally recommend one of those Man with a Van deals. They are totally cheap, easy and also really quick to arrange. You'll save a lot of time with one of these deals if you don't have a lot of fancy furniture items to be transported. It's totally OK to hire a removalist if you have a 4foot harp, a Baldwin Grand piano and a wall aquarium or anything fancy+expensive+antique to pack. Trying to pack items such as these on your own could cause damage and all sorts of unnecessary drama. You'll be left alone to work on your appearance (for the benefit of your hot neighbours) while the professionals handle the dirty work.
You'll get some help too...

Take only what you need,
You really don't want to take that massive pile of old magazines in to your new place do you? Throw, sell or give away anything you don't need.
Really? Gardening?

Pack ahead,
You wouldn't want to start packing the day before you leave. Make a time table and start separating and packing things at least a week earlier to save a lot of time while letting you decide what to take and what to leave lying on your lawn and avoid looking like this,
...u did fowget to bring mah Litterbox...!

Once you have moved to your new house, unpack IMMEDIATELY. That way, you can settle in to your new life quickly and have time to socialize and make new friends. Taking walks or drives around your new neighbourhood will allow you to meet new people and to get familiar with your surroundings...
..ur new here aren't u?

Make your new home look as inviting as possible. Arrange furniture, re-paint, redecorate and personalize as much as you can to make the place feel like home to you.
...and I Likez it!!

Finally, Now that you're all settled and the star of the neighbourhood. Enjoy your new life and make the most of it!!!

Important Note : Ant Proof your new house.

The best professional help you can get

To be superstitious or Not to be superstitious...

I'm not superstitious. I don't believe in horoscopes or moon charts and throw salt over my back whenever a black cat crosses my path (I think that's what you're supposed to do, to ward off bad luck). But I certainly do believe in jinxes. Like, if you wear the same ring for four days in a row and you have perfect weather and have (kinda) OK days, I tend to pin it on the ring and say 'this ring is lucky' and end up wearing that practically everyday (even when it clashes horribly with what I'm wearing)

I don't know if it's just me or what, but there's this certain body spray that smells awesome (Volare, Oriflame), whenever I wear that, I end up having horrific transportation issues. One time, I took a train with my Aunt and it turned out that my aunt who rides the train to work every single day, had taken a wrong train and we had to change the train, twice. What do you call that???

Volare by Oriflame, bad luck in a spray can?
I ended missing buses and having to squeeze in to the most uncomfortable crowded buses over the course of the next few days that I wore it. Then, I had no choice but to give the thing away to someone (She's fine by the way). Maybe I associated it with that horrible train event and jumped in to a conclusion but, the strange thing is. I never had trouble again.
I also find that the 'Third Time' is lucky for me (in a lot of ways).
I read somewhere that the brain tries to find patterns everywhere, which kind of created the Rosarch test to test for underlying thought disorders. (I took it and was proven negative for psychosis, in case you were wondering, HA!) So I guess that's what makes us so desperate to find all these weird connections (astrology anyone?) and come up with all kinds of determinants for good luck (four leaf clovers, horse shoes) and bad luck (Black cats, ladders).

But I'm pretty sure I'm not making it up when it comes to that annoying ANT, (http://behindtheoperamask.blogspot.com/2011/03/stalked-by-ant.html). He brought me a present today. A bread crumb, ain't that sweet? :) But he brought friends too, a bunch of tiny almost impossible little buggers who climbed up my arms and crawled on my face (little creeps).

Well, Hope the rest of you have a lucky week!!

Awkward post....

Yeah, I'm awkward. Sometimes I'm so awkward I don't know what I'm doing. It's no t cute either (like Bella Swan is assumed to be). It's kind of annoying actually. Imagine walking on the street in some banging outfit with your hair all done and your face made up with a breeze blowing your hair back. Awesome isn't it? Yeah, it is. Until you realize that you don't have anything to carry and your arms suddenly stop whatever they were doing without thinking about it, and you end up looking like an idiot with lead arms. This just happened as I was coming back to my seat from the lunch area.
And now I've put it on the internet and I've just realized that my work mates are probably gonna see it.
Wow... That's gonna be awkward..!

Why some couples are annoying...

...annoying couple

Having my one true love far, far away in another continent is no easy task: it takes commitment, good communication and trust. Right now, I’m not exactly in the mood for ’10 tips to keep the flame up on your long distance relationship’, I’m in the mood to display my observations on stereotypical couples we meet everywhere (And no, I’m not a creepy couple watcher who peers at unsuspecting couples from discreet places in not so discreet ways) and provide comic relief and annoyance.

at diz couple
Being in Sri Lanka, I believe that the most common couple is “sexist macho guy with sexist meek girl”. I see couples like this pretty much everywhere and strangely 3 out of 5 of these couples are actually happy with each other. The common characteristics of this type of affair are: the guy tells the girl what to wear, what not to wear, who not to talk to (that usually involves all other guys because he’s convinced that the girl will cheat on him right after a conversation with some random guy and that every guy is after his beloved) and especially what she’s supposed to do with her life after marriage. I’ve met girls who claim that they want to stop whatever occupation they are in right after they are married because their boyfriends want them to be housewives while their boyfriends claim that they will not have their wives working because they can provide for them. Then again, these guys go for simple low maintenance type girls who think lipstick is sacrilege and that conditioner is unnecessary because frizzy hair is attractive. The worst part about these people is, they frown upon every independent girl who disagrees ('what? you'don't want kids right after you're married?what kind of female are you?') and are on a mission to shove their archaic beliefs down our throats (“Make up is for street-walkers and you will die if you iron your hair’). Believe me when I say, they are made for each other.

There are certain guidelines to public displays of affection and there are those “couples who don’t know the limits of PDA”. One doesn’t have to take a class to know that certain couple things are not to be done in public. While holding hands and a brief greeting kiss may be given all audience approval, it would be nice if any further public interactions are kept below PG-13. Note to all such couples, do you really want to perform your poor techniques in front of someone who is trying to keep their eyes averted and trying to be interested in the sad looking scenery outside the bus window? And yes, we get it; you’re together, now get out of sight please!

...that you guys got back together

Then there’s the quite uncommon “American TV show mimicking couple”, they are the most annoying of the lot. My advice to all you bystanders and friends of the couple is to stay the hell away from them. These couples have a tendency to have lame fights and break up to discover that the people around them are outlets to display their grieving skills which include, bad mouthing their partner, telling all the nasty things they told about you and range from being annoyingly over-friendly to scarily clingy. If you can handle that, then go, be the BFF for a while but be warned, you will be dumped without a second thought at the first hint of a reunion. Then you will be left gawking like an idiot while they canoodle around, ignoring you and the fact that you spent weeks listening to their sob stories and wiping the snot off their faces. And yes any words of condolence and comfort mentioned by you will be shared among the couple. But, don’t worry; you’ll have your revenge, when they break up again. It works like clockwork.

I can haz pokkit fulz of sunshine? plz

Last but so not least, we have “The Braggers”. These are surprisingly common; usually the bragging is done by the girl. If you happen to be friendly with such a couple, be prepared for lengthy boring discussions about how great their boyfriend is. Mostly they talk about the guy’s commitment to them (‘he always calls me before he goes to work”), the presents they receive (“OMG, I got this awesome e-card for Halloween”) and how awesome his job is (“his boss took him out to lunch and said that he can get a way better job at a way bigger company”). This is extremely annoying to me since my man is overseas and I don’t get to see him often, and this dumb girl goes on for hours about how her boyfriend ‘totally can’t go two days without seeing her’. My advice: try not to ‘one-up’ them, pretend you’re listening and make approving sounds at carefully spaced intervals, and sing ‘pocketful of sunshine’ (the take me away part) in your head.
Oh, I forgot to mention, they come to you at the slightest bump of their relationship bearing heavily detailed complaints of their misery. Enjoy!

Shocked...!

It was late and dark, I was with a work buddy at a bus stop, waiting for a bus that wasn't loaded to capacity to go home after a long difficult day. We were sharing various bus jokes and laughing at random things when suddenly, a guy jumped in front of a three-wheeler and I looked away, imagining the worst. The bus stop seemed to have had stopped, everything was quiet except  screams, except, those were not of pain but of anger. "Get the hell out of there, get out of there, you whore!" my head turned to look at the guy who, moments ago, jumped in front of the moving threewheeler screaming and madly swinging at a cowering girl in the backseat. When I looked more closely, there was another guy in the back seat with her. Meanwhile, the guy outside kept trying to drag the girl out in to the pavement and the three-wheeler driver kept looking ahead oblivious to world war three going on in his backseat. This went on for about five minutes and the whole time, the guy outside the three-wheeler kept throwing threats and blows at the girl while the guy inside
kept saying " stop stop, let's just talk about this, please get in!". In the end the driver finally decided to drag his fat ass out and intervene "sir please get in, we'll go somewhere quiet and talk"
(Weird, maybe that's what he was trying to put together for so long). Eventually, Kung fu master there, finally decided to quieten down, get himself half dragged in to the backseat and allow to be zoomed away out of sight.

The crowd dispersed while my friend and I were left with open mouths. We missed a couple of empty busses too as he pointed out later. This happened a few weeks ago, and I still don't know what to say. All three of them were good looking office types and raised many a theories among the audience, which mostly justified the karate kid's actions. (They were fantastic viewers by the way, and managed to maintain absolute silence throughout the whole scene and nobody - even the body builder type guy in a muscle tee - intervened.
Maybe the grl was caught red-handed while cheating, or may be it was a weird misunderstanding of some sort. It's so not my business, but still in my opinion, people should try not to resort to violence and try to solve problems in a rational and more civilized manner.
And a note to the girl-  I don't know the real situation but, If you were cheating, I just hope you won't cheat on anyone else and if it was all just a wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time incident then, know what you're dealing with (your guy).

Only in Sri Lanka.... :)

I'm constantly on the lookout for funny stuff that I can photograph and laugh at forever. Quite recently I ran in to some really funny stuff on the roadside but the downside of being forgetful as I am is that I don't always have my camera with me to preserve the moment.

1. Tuk Tuks
Believe me, our tuk-tuks are a constant source of amusement to me. The over-sized sound systems, the overly flashy  paint jobs are all second to the tuk-tuks equivalent of bumper stickers; "the quotes on the rear".

I'm sure it is what it says it is
I saw another one which said, "Gold Mother". It goes for saying, somethings should only be said in Sinhala.

2. Food Packaging
This is a bit rare but when you find it, it totally hits the spot. This was taken at a friend's place.
Don't Judge the papadam by the packaging
The taste was pretty much average and there wasn't a lot of product in the package. I guess my friend bought this "for teh lulz"

3. My cats

It would be unfair to miss out on the funny stuff dished by my babies under my own roof. Being the cat person I am I have two adorable cats:

one is forever ready to strike a pose...
Ready for those flashing lights...
the other likes boxes, baskets, pans, cupboards... well, pretty much anything large enough for him to curl up inside.

Hey, if the little old woman lived in a shoe then...
You gotta enjoy the little things that life dishes out through the course of a rough week. These are the silver lines on my rainclouds and the rainbows after the rain.

Well, that's enough LOLz for today I guess.
Stay signed in for more... and until then PEACE and Enjoy the little things!
